Shop Update!!

They're ready!!  Romeo and Jerome spent the morning patiently waiting while I added their finishing touches!  For Romeo, I made a tiny bouquet of roses, wrapped them in brown paper and embelished it with embroidery thread and a light dusting of glitter.  I then sewed a little ruffle collar around Jerome's neck and beaded it with tiny mandarin orange glass beads.  He's holding a teeny present, made with Japanese felt and embroidery thread.  They both measure about 3.5 inches tall.  I decided to play around with my original pattern when I made Jerome, mostly re-configuring the head, and I'm quite happy with the results.  I kinda like that little squished head look!  Hope you like them:)  Available in my etsy store now.

A while ago, I participated in my very first doll swap with a lovely lady in England.  We each made a doll and sent them off to each other in the mail.  Well, yesturday, Emily arrived in the post and she is lovely!  You can visit Lo's blog here: http://lafolieemilie.blogspot.com/.  I quite like the idea of doing another one in the future, so if any of you are interested, please let me know.

Hope you  all have a very relaxing weekend!

Shelly

New Girls, a Kitten and a Panda

Hello everyone!  Have you had a good week?  I've had to do a lot of 'real' work this week.  I've had a lot of clients in need of hair cuts, curls and colours - so glad I can do that right here at home!!  And I've had to organize new tenant move-in's, bathroom renovations,  carpet layers, the painter and the repair man.  The building has had some major fix-ups this week, and when it's nice out, and when I get the flowers planted (hope that happens soon!), I'll take a pic of the courtyard and show you all what a cute little building we live in!  My grandad managed this place for almost 20 years, and I took over almost 10 years ago when he got ill.  We've been here for 13 years and even though we're a little cramped with two teenage boys sharing a room, it works really well for us!  Thank heavens they get along for the most part!  My grandad has passed on, but my Nannykins still lives in the same suite and we try and see her every day.  My  boys still have sleep-overs with her as often as possible and eat her out of house and home!

Even though this has been a hectic week, I managed to find time to make a new panda and a kitten.  They still need their finishing touches which I'm keeping secret for now:)  I also started embroidering the faces of six new Little Ladies that I'm hoping to have ready by next week.  I'll keep you posted with pic's of their progress!

Lastly, I'm feeling slightly guilty right now, because I just adopted my very first Blythe doll and I can't wait till she gets here!  I've promised myself that one of each, a Pullip and a Blythe will be enough - I just hope I can stick to my guns!!  I ended up giving my first Pullip doll - Vivienne to my mom because she just loved her so much.  I have kept Maylee and she will be my little clothing model for our new etsy store.   And hey, now that I think about it,  we can start making Blythe clothing too... so maybe I don't feel that guilty after all!

Ms. Bea's been Baking!

It's a long weekend here in Canada and we're enjoying the break!  I spent most of the weekend trying my hand at making clothing to fit Pullip dolls as well as finishing up a new Anime bunny.  The bunny and bear above -  Narley and Teey were completed last week.  My mom has been sewing up a storm and soon we'll be ready to open our new Etsy store catering to Pullip lovers!

My sweetie has offered to take me to my favourite nursery today to pick up some flowers for the courtyard as well as for our balcony.  The weather here has been so lousy lately that I've been putting off the gardening till it gets a little warmer.  During the Olympics it was unseasonally warm here and I think we're paying for it now!

Just wanted to share a pic of Ms Bea.  I finished her up last night and am quite pleased with the results!  She's holding a tiny cake that has glass beads and glitter dusting the top, and she's wearing a tiny apron and matching bow.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Pullip Passion!

Patience is not one of my virtues.  Especially when I'm waiting for something special in the post.  Fortunately or unfortunately, we have our post delivered right to our door, which is very rare in apartment buildings here in Canada.  Its amazing how many times in a day I'll hear mail comming through my door, only to find out when I check that there's nothing there.  Well, my wait is finally over!  My new Pullip arrived today!  She is a Pullip Celsiy and she has the most adorable little face!  I'm going to rename her of course, and haven't a clue yet as to what it's going to be.

My mom has been busy making all sorts of outfits to fit Pullip and Blythe dolls and we are nearing the opening of our new store on etsy.  My sewing machine is in for repairs, so all my Little Ladies are on hold till its ready.  I do have a new 'battered' bunny that I'm working on and he should be ready to list tomorrow.  Please check him out if you can!

Here she is wearing one of my mom's cardigans and a Hello Kitty skirt.
Hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Cyril and Mavis

Hello lovely readers!  So sorry I've been neglecting to write, but I've had an eventful week and I'm finally able to sit down and share what I've been doing.  Firstly, I just want to thank you for all your lovely comments, it really makes my day brighter when I read your responses to my posts!

This afternoon, I finished up two new Siamese Anime kittens.  They're made with cream and brown hand woven felt, and the little girl is for my mom.  I've named her Mavis, and she's wearing an orange flower, beaded with turquoise glass beads that match her little bow.  Unfortunately she wasn't quite ready for Mother's Day because I've been so busy, but better late that never!

Cyril will be posted in my etsy shop - he's got a bit of a dilemma - he's gone and lost his tail - again!  Last time he saw it, he was on a whirlwind tour of the Swiss Alps.   He'd had so much cheese and wine, that it didn't occur to him to check for it before he boarded the steam boat  and sailed back home.  This is NOT the first time!

Anyway, back to my week.  I managed to complete two Little Ladies, one a commission, and the other for my shop.  My sewing machine has been sounding like a jack-hammer, so I think its time to take it in for a tune-up!!  I'm sure my neighbours must think we're renovating our suite with the amount of noise that thing makes!LOL!
That's Tia on the left, made specially for Lada, and on the right is Sadie, who's gone to live in Hawaii with her new mommy.
I also wanted to share my very first Pullip doll with you.  I got her in the post last Saturday, and dressed her in one of the Little Lady dresses I had on hand.  My mom had just made two new wrap-around cardigans for our shop, so I tried one on her too.  I've named her Vivienne, and she came with a Little Pullip named Dormouse - top right.  She is sooo adorable with her lavender eyes, emerald green hair and mousy top hat!

Mom and I are planning on adjusting our patterns ever so slightly to fit the Pullip and Blythe dolls, and we'll be adding a second shop on etsy in the near future!  Exciting!!

And one more thing, I got a little greedy and ordered another Pullip.  I was hoping she'd come today, but that was not to be. o_O   My mama is 'babysitting' Vivi so she can try on all the little things she's been making, and get this - she went and pre-ordered her very own Pullip, it's the one comming out in July and she is sooo sweet!  I think we've just started a little problem!!

Hope you all have a super lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Shelly

Work in Progress...

Don't you just love it when you find a gorgeous piece of fabric?  When I saw this amazing print, I knew good things could come from it.  Vivid colours, silky texture and a lovely drape make it pretty and versitle.

This little Damsel Doll will have a fiery personality, and I'm hoping she beguiles everyone who sees her!

Shop Update!!

Finally!!  I am sooo done!  My shop is loaded with Little Ladies and dress-up apparel.  I cannot tell you how good it feels to finally get them all finished!  This week has been a wirlwind of activity in my house and it seem like not a square inch was left unaffected by pieces of fabric, bits of lace and ribbon.   Even my sweat pants were adorned with remnants of embroidery thread!

Our computer has been a bit of a nasty bear though, and what should have taken a few hours to upload and organize, took me the better part of the weekend to finish.  However, everything came together nicely, and I'm happy with the end result.

Each Little Lady was carefully created, from the detailed embroidery stitches to the tiny working buttons on her shoes.  When the girls were dressed, they each had a turn posing for their photo shoot.  I don't know about them, but I love that part!

All the outfits were made and then embellished with lovely Japanese lace and embroidery thread.  You'll even spot a tiny silver bee on one cardi and a little silver watering can on another!  My lovely mum outdid herself too!  She knitted so many little cardi's, berets and caps, and even made a nightie and mop cap.  All the skirts and peasant blouses are her creations too!

Hope you enjoy!
